Hey party people! I hope you’re all doing so well! I love how much you all resonated with the last newsletter about wearing your teenage scent—I’m glad to know you guys are all as haunted by the nauseating heartache of nostalgia as me.

As I write to you right now, I’m sitting in a dreamy cottage in the English countryside, curled up next to a fire (admittedly lit more for coziness than utilitarian purposes), ready to take you through the things I’ve consumed in the last month. But I wanna start this newsletter off with an upcoming disclaimer: I’m getting married very soon, and things are getting a little hectic on my end as I try to balance work and wedding prep with my whole family in town. I’m going to really try and get a newsletter to you guys on July 7th and 14th, but if I don’t, just know that I’m either walking down the aisle or on my honeymoon. When I’m back, I want to share a sort of wedding black book (a la Emily Weiss for OG ITG), which I think will be really fun and juicy. There’s also a lot I want to say on the topic of preparing for a wedding while in eating disorder recovery, because it seems like the ethos of recovery and wedding expectations are totally at odds with one another, and it’s been a really weird but extremely enlightening thing to navigate.
Anyway, let’s get into it for this week. <3
I want more charms!
I’m a more-is-more gal when it comes to my personal style. I love a funky layer, a frilly sock, or an absurd, ornate, or adorable accessory. Few things have brought me more joy lately than adorning my everyday purses with cute, large-and-in-charge keychains. Not only is it an instant shot of serotonin to my brain every time I look at it, even if I’m wearing the most basic outfit ever (like leggings and a sports bra on my way to yoga), a special keychain dangling off your purse will always add something a little eccentric, weird, and fun to my wardrobe. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get throughout the day on my little Monchhichi, which I picked up at An.Me in the East Village last time I was in New York. They also have the more adorable Sylvanian Family keychains there too, which make for a perfect bag keychain.
Holy grail trash juice.
I don’t always use P50, but whenever my skin is extra rotten, I always find myself restocking on this old, tried-and-true method to silence my acne once and for all. I’m sure many of you are reading this or have tried this product, but it’s basically an exfoliating toner that smells like trash juice—it uses a blend of AHAs and BHAs as well as ingredients like apple cider vinegar, sulfur, and yeast, all of which work to brighten hyperpigmentation and keep acne at bay. This is one of those products that really just works for my skin, but I have to be mindful to only use it sparingly since it is so incredible strong. If I use this too much, it destroys my skin barrier (which is interesting because most Biologique spas will tell you to use it every day, which is far too much for me personally), but when I’m careful, few things hit like it. There’s a to of different P50 options to choose from, but I like the P50 V because it has some hydrating benefits to it.
Only look at my star if I like you.
I’ve shared with you guys before how important wearing pimple patches is when it comes to preventing skin picking. I loooooove Starface for when I’m leaving the house, but I kind of hate the constant “What’s on your face?” stare I get from people (this doesn’t really happen to me when I’m in New York or LA, but I get it a lot in London.) Like, just let me live, you know? These Earth Star patches are just as adorable as the black or bright yellow ones I typically wear, but since they’re earth tones, they camouflage a bit better. They’re not necessarily noticeable to someone walking past me on the street, but if you’re at lunch with me, you will be able to see them, which I like!
Wellness content for the freaks.
Occasionally, my algorithm will take a break from manic Swiftie conspiracy theories and serve me easy and delicious meal inspirations. Such was the case with Alissa’s Cesar salad wraps, which got me immediately hooked on her content. Even though her recipes all taste like something you could find at the hot bar at Erewhon (this is high praise coming from me, considering it’s basically my favorite restaurant), her bio reads that her content is “wellness...for the freaks." I find a lot of over-enthusiastic, wellness-y influencers kind of cringe, but her ultra-mellow, vaguely goth presence and genuinely delicious recipes are addictive. They’re also incredibly easy to make and incorporate a lot of pantry staples, so I find myself checking her page to see if she’s uploaded a new video often. Her tarragon vinaigrette dressing and tuna salad (with pickles!!) recipes have rewired my brain.
I’m liberating my legs.
Once I turned 30, I decided I’m no longer prisoner to uncomfortable pants. I’ve spent so many years of my life squeezing my body into stiff, oppressive, vintage Levi’s 501s, and I’ve simply decided I’m over it. Listen…did they look great? Yes! But at what cost? Gone are the days where I unbutton my pants after eating or jump to put my pants on in the morning—I’m just not cut out for that life anymore. Anyways, my go-to pant of the moment is an Adidas Firebird track pant, which is not just supremely comfortable, I have also strangely discovered they can be styled in so many different ways. I almost never wear them in a generically sporty way; instead, I’ve found they look best when paired with a super-preppy or girly shirt and shoes, like a massive collared button-up and Mary Janes with frilly socks. I’ve also taken to wearing them with a baby tee and a pair of strappy sandals.

I just walked around my hs mall for the first time in eons (I really only go into the Target and movie theater there anymore) this weekend with my bf and discovered an amazing shop selling all kinds of blindboxes and couldn't resist a Hello Kitty and Friends keychain blindbox...I got my fave kuromi and couldn't wait to put that on my baggu. Also @ the pimple patches - I started a new job a month ago and immediately noticed my marketing assistant and a library page wearing them and was so excited to see that at work. As someone who is public facing staff, I think I might be too self-conscious to wear the brighter colors (I assist way too many boomers to be spared questions) so thanks for sharing the neutral shades!
I am with you... I literally cannot be uncomfortable anymore.
