I’ve written time and time again about my love of Manhattan’s tiny, hole-in-the-wall skincare haven oo35mm, which is nestled on the busy corner of Canal and Mott. Well, I have an exciting update: as of two weeks ago, they officially opened a second location in Williamsburg, and it’s least double the size.
One of the main reasons why people are so obsessed with oo35mm (myself included) is their dedication to showcasing incredible, lesser-known products from all over the world—over the years, there have been countless holy-grail products (like Man:yo’s Bifida Biome Ampoule and Holy Snail’s Shark Sauce) that I might never have discovered elsewhere. In a recent conversation over text, manager Winnie Zhong explained how the larger space allows for them to spotlight more emerging and independent brands and innovative formulas. "Also, guests can explore diverse products in a dedicated testing area, and engage with our staff, brand founders, and fellow skincare enthusiasts through special events, talks, and more,” she added.
oo35mm is now Senti Senti!
They’ve also officially rebranded from oo35mm to Senti Senti. I’ll admit, when they first announced the name change on Instagram, I got tons of DMs from people totally freaking out, fearing the change maybe meant they’d been sold to a larger company and the essence of the shop would be lost. But Winnie said that as they expanded, the decision to rebrand was simply about embracing a name that reflected their new era and, perhaps more importantly, was easier for people to pronounce.
