I’m currently working on a project (which you’ll see soon!) that dives deeper into bridal beauty treatments, specifically, the ones brides-to-be tend to obsess over. For better or for worse, brides seem to become the celebrities of their own world throughout the wedding process (I’ve been there, so I say this without an ounce of judgement), so it’s really only natural that they feel the sudden pressure or urge to look the part. As I’ve been researching, I’ve noticed that it’s pretty common for brides to get curious about the same treatments they see celebrities getting before major red carpet events, especially those known for their brightening, tightening, and photo-ready effects.

One of the biggest privileges of working on this specific project has been the opportunity to actually try many of the treatments myself and see the results firsthand. There was one ultra-fancy, Hollywood-approved facial that I’ve always been intensely curious about, as it’s one that I’ve not only heard about time and time again from fellow beauty editors over the years, but that I know countless celebrities swear by, from nearly every Kardashian-Jenner to Chrissy Teigen, Hilary Duff, and Alex Cooper (among others!). This facial combines several pretty intense facial treatments you might already be familiar with: Clear + Brilliant, a laser treatment known for improving tone, texture, and overall radiance, and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) microneedling, where your own blood is drawn, spun to extract the plasma, and then microneedled back into the skin to speed healing and boost collagen. It’s hardcore, but I’ve been trying to angle to try it out myself for years.

About a month or two ago, I finally went in for the treatment. Today, I’m going to tell you everything. I’m walking you through exactly what happened during the facial, how painful it was, progress photos, the final results, and what I really think about it all.
